The report outlines a proposal to increase the capacity of East Hartford Special School from 54 to 61 planned places. The increased number of places would be for pupils with Behavioural, Emotional and Social difficulties (BESD). This proposal would be facilitated by the relocation of the school to the site of the former Wensleydale Middle School in Blyth and is consistent with the County Council’s strategy to increase the capacity for educating pupils with BESD within Northumberland. The report also seeks permission to carry out consultation on the proposal.
